Lists each battalion and where it was originally recruited in Germany. Includes feldpost number, number of companies, names of personel, and where it was stationed or fought. I also have listed known atrocities including einsatzgruppen association, locations and death totals. Included are photos of the actual battalion or company when ever possible.

The book traces each battalion through assignments to the temporary regiments operating in 1941 to the formation of the battalions into police regiments and when in 1943 they became SS-Polizei Regiments.

The role that the German Police Battalions played in the destruction of the Jews and the Eastern European nationalities that the Third Reich had deemed superfluous or dangerous is little known. Only in the last fifteen years with the opening of the Soviet archives has their role in the deaths of millions become known.

The German Police, often aided by local auxiliaries shot at close range over a
million people in less than two years. Later in the war the battalions were formed into regiments and absorbed into the SS where they were active in the hunt for partisan bands behind the front lines. In this book you will find a
history of each battalion and the men who participated in these actions. Many of these men who survived the war were never tried. Instead they continued their careers in law enforcement with many retiring with pensions from positions of importance.

Based on research I did for the "Police Battalions of the Third Reich." In SS-Polizei I have written the story of one man and his role in the Holocaust. Beginning in 1940, he describes what it was like for him, and the men in his squad to participate in the death of tens of thousands of Jewish men, women, and children.

The story follows his police battalion from the ghetto of Warsaw to the execution by firing squad of countless numbers of human beings. The deportation of thousands of Jews to the death camps, and the battalions role in the bitter anti-partisan war that was fought behind the lines of the Wehrmacht.

All events that are described actually happened. The main character is a historical recreation by the author.
